The AAD Personal History Project
Whether written or oral, personal histories are important and enriching resources for learning about past events. They are critical to the Association of Army Dentistry’s objective of capturing:
- The history of the Army Dental Care System
- Our contributions to Army Medicine and the Army
- Our accomplishments in caring for Soldiers
Personal histories add to the repository of formal history reports, books and periodicals, and enhance our knowledge by connecting voices and faces from our past with current and future readers. These narrations personalize and humanize past events, organizations and accomplishments. The Association of Army Dentistry encourages its members to contribute to this project by conducting oral histories or producing a written history about people associated with Army Dentistry who have important, interesting or unusual stories to tell.
There are multiple online resources to help you plan and produce your personal history project. For more information and tips about producing a personal history, as well as submitting your finished project, go to:
Please complete and submit the AAD’s Personal History Project Submission Form (pdf) when submitting the components of your oral or written personal history.
