About Us
Through the efforts of MG (Ret) Bill B. Lefler and a dedicated group of retired Army Dental Corps officers, the Association of Army Dentistry was incorporated in 2009 as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization to advance Army Dentistry through its Six Strategic Pillars:
- Promoting morale and esprit de corps
- Supporting recruitment and retention
- Providing continuing education
- Providing coaching and mentoring
- Honoring the service of those, past and present, who serve the Nation via Army Dentistry
- Being a repository for the accomplishments and history of Army Dentistry
AAD Leadership includes an Executive Team and a Board of Directors.
We invite all members of the Army Dental Care Team – past and present – and friends of Army Dentistry to become members of the AAD. Please visit our Membership page for more information. Our Spouses and Surviving Spouses Committee page provides additional information about the benefits of membership for spouses who choose to join the AAD.
In 2023, the AAD formally dedicated the Army Dentistry Monument at the Army Medical Department Museum in San Antonio, Texas. It is a lasting tribute to the Soldiers, civilians and spouses who comprise the Army Dental Care Team. The monument, which was originally conceived in 2017, includes a bronze statue of a military dentist, dental specialist and patient in a combat environment, and individual monoliths representing each component that contributes to Army Dentistry. For more information, please visit our Army Dentistry Monument page.
